The next stage in this masterclass was to sand down the blue foam model so I did not waste too much filler when it came to the filling process. To do this as quickly a possible I used a very low grade sand paper. The model was then ready to be filled so I mixed the plaster mixture together and scraped it into all the groves and crevaces making the model rounded, as seen below.
It took about four hours for the plaster to dry and when it was ready I began sanding it again, this time with higher grades of sandpaper to give it a better finish.
Now that the model was the right shape I filled it again, this time with car body filler so that when I spray paint the model the paint will not be absorbed by the foam. This stage had to be done quickly because once mixed car body filler dries in ten minutes.
When dry, I sanded it down again with high grade sand paper to give a smooth finish. Below is the finished model which is it is now ready to be spray painted.
